Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28th in 1967. Roberts is part of four generations of the Robertses that live in the Atlanta area, starting with her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts a farmer. Her father was a theatre enthusiast since a young age. As a college student at Emory University from 1952 to 1954, he took part in several shows. While stationed at Biloxi in Mississippi, he was commissioned into the Air Force in the year 1953. Betty Lou Bredemus was also in the production. They got married in 1955. Their first baby son Eric Anthony, was born in the year 1956. In 1957 the couple left the military and Walter began his studies at Tulane University in New Orleans Louisiana. Walter was hired to work for Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio to assist on the stage of the television show Bum Bum His Buddies in Decatur Georgia. Walter along with Betty Lou started production in 1964 for the local Saturday morning children's show on television called Bum Bum and His Buddies, which they funded themselves. The Actors and Writers Workshop was founded in 1964 and ran for 6 years. They also had two kids Lelisa (called Lisa) Billingsley in the year 1965, as well as Julia (called Julie) in 1967.
