Chaka Khan
Chaka who is also known as Queen of Funk as she is also called is an American recording musician. Her career has stretched over five decades, she's had a total record of ten Grammys. She has also been ranked as the 65th most successful ever dance artist in the history of Billboard magazine. Born in Chicago, Illinois and introduced to jazz at a very young age by her mother. The first step in her professional career was performing with different bands. Then, in the near future, she became a member of a band called Rufus. The album she released was her debut as a member of the band at age of 20. In the year following the group was awarded their first Grammy. The self-titled debut album just a couple of years following her debut solo album. Then she released a number of albums throughout the years, including 'Echoes of an Era", 'The Women I Am', and "Funk This.". As well as her musical activities, her work in the charitable sector has brought her lots of recognition. Chaka Khan Foundation was established in order to aid children from low-income families and people with autism. Khan can also be seen as an actor. She played sister Carrie who played the leading role in the musical "Mama, I'd Like to Sing'.
